Troubleshooting
Cable
ANY TYPE OF CONVERTER BOX YOUR TV MUST REMAIN ON CHANNEL 3 AT ALL TIMES!
PROBLEM: NO SOUND
The MUTE button might have been pressed. Press MUTE on the remote to restore volume
PROBLEM: PICTURE; NO SOUND ON CERTAIN CHANNELS
The SAP feature on your remote is on. Press SAP button on remote control to restore
PROBLEM: NO PICTURE
Make sure TV is on Channel 3, all connections are secure. If moved TV make sure cable wire where moved to is active. If TV has picture without converter box, make sure box is hooked up correctly. If everything is correct, contact our office
PROBLEM: NO POWER
Make sure power cord is plugged in. Make sure that power cord is not connected to switch controlled by light switch on wall.
PROBLEM: REMOTE CONTROL DOESN’T WORK
Check and change batteries. Make sure no obstruction between you and TV/Converter. On remote, press CBL on remote.
PROBLEM: PICTURE IS FROZEN, CERTAIN FUNCTIONS NOT WORKING NO PICTURE
Unplug power cord from the back of the box and plug it back in.
Internet
PROBLEM: NO POWER (LIGHTS OUT COMPLETELY)
Make sure power cord is plugged into both cable modem and outlet tight
If the modem has a “standby button” make sure was not pushed in
PROBLEM: ALL LIGHTS ARE SOLID ON MODEM
Unplug modem from back of modem for few seconds and plug back in
If the does not work, modem possibly took a power surge or lightning strike and will need replaced
PROBLEM: CAN NOT SURF
If using wireless router you need to bypass router and hook directly into computer
Make sure cable line connected tightly
If moved modem, make sure cable is active at that outlet
Phone
PROBLEM: STATIC
Plug phone directly into MTA, this will bypass house wiring
If phone already plugged directly into MTA try hooking up different phone
PROBLEM: NO DAIL TONE (WHEN SOMEONE CALLS IT RINGS BUSY)
Has the MTA been moved? If so, needs moved back to original site
Phone(s) in house maybe off the hook
Cordless phone could need recharged due to not hanging back up properly
Plug directly into MTA to make sure not house wiring
If phone is directly plugged into the MTA, try a different phone plugged into MTA
PROBLEM: NO LIGHTS ON MTA
Check outlet where plugged into to make sure tight
Check standby button on MTA to make sure not pushed in (not all MTA’s have this feature)
Check surge protector that phone plugged into to make sure getting power
Make sure MTA is not plugged into something that is switched off such as light switch, computer, etc.
